After a three year layoff, top Singaporean prospect Radeem Rahman finally makes his return to competitive action when ONE Fighting Championship makes a pit-stop in Singapore next month.
Officials today confirmed with MMASucka.com that Rahman (1-0) will be locking horns with Malaysia’s Raymond Tan (2-1) in a featured 135-lbs tussle.
ONE FC 16: Honor & Glory takes place May 30 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. As with previous events, the main card airs LIVE on Star Sports in Asia, and streams LIVE on an online pay-per-view for US$9.99.
Match-ups including Welterweights Ben Askren (12-0) vs. Bakhtiyar Abbasov (11-2), Bruno Pucci (3-0) vs. Martin Nguyen (3-0) at Featherweight, Jake Butler (3-1) vs. Pane Haraki (3-2) at Light Heavyweight and Caros Fodor (8-4) vs. Willy Ni (15-8) at 155-lbs have already been added to the line-up.
Rahman, a native of Evolve MMA, will attempt to be just the first Singaporean to garner two victories under the ONE FC banner. After a successful promotional debut which saw him reign victorious via TKO against India’s Susovan Gosh, Rahman was slated to take on Gianni Subba a year later at 125-lbs, before injuries forced the Singaporean to the sidelines. Now, Rahman will move up a weight-class to Bantamweight in his much anticipated return.
Tan, a lengthy Malaysian, made a triumphant ONE FC debut at ONE FC 10 last year, submitting Brianata Rosadhi within 21 seconds. However, he dropped the first setback of his career in his next outing at ONE FC 12: Warrior Spirit, succumbing to a first round Guillotine choke at the hands of Casey Suire. With an exceptionally long reach, Tan is regarded as of Malaysia’s top Bantamweights.
With the addition, the updated ONE FC 16: Honor & Glory fight card now includes:
- Ben Askren vs. Bakhtiyar Abbasov
- Caros Fodor vs. Willy Ni
- Jake Butler vs. Pane Haraki
- Bruno Pucci vs. Martin Nguyen
- *Radeem Rahman vs. Raymond Tan
*Not formerly announced
