After two opponents have dropped out, Jon Fitch has finally drawn Josh Burkman at WSOF 11.

According to MMA Fighting, World Series of Fighting officials announced the new match-up on Thursday.

Jon Fitch takes on Josh Burkman in trilogy fight at WSOF 11

Fitch (25-6-1, 1NC) was expected to take on Rousimar Palhares for the WSOF welterweight title, but the Brazilian pulled out and in stepped Jake Shields. Unfortunately earlier this week Shields was also forced to withdraw from the bout and WSOF officials have drawn on a trilogy bout with Burkman.

The AKA welterweight lost his WSOF debut to Burkman via submission just 41-seconds into their WSOF 3 bout. At UFC FN 4 back in 2006, Fitch tapped Burkman out in his second UFC fight. In October, Fitch followed up that loss with his first victory in the WSOF decagon against Marcelo Alfaya.

Burkman (27-10) is 4-1 inside the WSOF cage and his lone loss came to Steve Carl for the promotions welterweight championship. His victories came over Gerald Harris (WSOF 1), Aaron Simpson (WSOF 2), Tyler Stinson (WSOF 9) and the aforementioned Fitch.

WSOF 11 takes place on July 5 at an undisclosed location and will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between champion Justin Gaethje and number one contender Nick Newell. Also featured on the card is a lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and JZ Cavalcante.
