The welterweight title is up for grabs at Titan FC 29, as Matt Riddle takes on newly signed Ben Saunders and Titan FC 30 will feature Jason Brilz vs. Vinny Magalhaes for the middleweight championship.
Title fights announced for Titan FC 29 and 30
The news was first reported by MMAFighting.com‘s Ariel Helwani and later confirmed by Titan FC CEO Jeff Aronson.
Riddle (8-3, 2NC) was released from the UFC after a failed drug test following a victory over Che Mills. He went on to fight his first bout outside of the Octagon at Titan FC 27 in February and finished Michael Kuiper via guillotine choke in the second round.
Saunders (16-6-2) has fought under the Bellator banner since 2011 and held a 7-3 record with them. He was able to make it to the welterweight tournament finals on two different occasions, but was knocked out both times by Douglas Lima. “Killa B” signed a multi-fight contract with Titan FC in April of this year.
Brilz (22-5-1) has been on a tear since being dropped by the UFC. The well-rounded light heavyweight has gone 4-0 since leaivng the big show, most recently he won a split decision against Raphael Davis at Titan FC 28.
Magalhaes (10-7, 1NC) is currently on a two-fight losing streak. The Brazilian was signed on by Titan FC earlier this year and was expected to take on Brilz at Titan FC 28, however was forced to due to a serious staph infection.
Titan FC 28 goes down from the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. on August 22 and Titan FC 29 will take place on September 26 at the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, TX.
