Robert Whittaker had his strong stand-up game to thank on a fine evening at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
As part of the main card’s opening bout, the 23-year-old added kicks to his always stellar Boxing skills, and that plan eventually paved way for a solid Unanimous Decision victory.

His opponent, Roufusport product Mike Rhodes, had multiple takedown attempts but while his flamboyant arsenal of strikes flourished in the latter rounds, he never really had Whittaker in any sort of trouble.
Whittaker timed a perfect takedown in the final frame and was content with ground-and-pound all the way to the final bell, picking up the decision victory and snapping a two fight losing streak in the process.
Final Result: Robert Whittaker def. Mike Rhodes via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
