The women will do battle at UFC Fight Night 47, as Sara McMann steps inside the Octagon against Lauren Murphy.
UFC officials announced the fight on Thursday.
McMann (7-1) suffered her first career loss at UFC 170 in February when she was stopped in the very first round of her championship fight against Ronda Rousey. Prior to that bout, she was 7-0 with a first round TKO victory over Sheila Gaff at UFC 159.
Murphy (8-0) is undefeated in her professional career and will look to continue on her winning ways in her UFC debut. Murphy has fought her last three bouts under the Invicta FC banner and most recently she defeated Miriam Nakamoto to become the first ever Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion.
No word as to where the McMann vs. Murphy bout will take place on the UFC Fight Night 47 fight card, but the majority of the bouts will air live on FOX Sports 1.
UFC Fight Night 47 goes down on August 16 from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The main event is a light heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Ovince Saint Preux. Other bouts set for the Maine card are Tim Boetsch vs. Brad Tavares, Shawn Jordan vs. Jack May and Sam Alvey vs. Tom Watson.
