Ronda Rousey wins ESPY for Best Female Athlete

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has added another award to her trophy case. On Wednesday evening, the 27-year-old took home the ESPY for Best Female Athlete.

The 2014 ESPY awards were hosted by Drake at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Rousey (10-0) is undefeated in her mixed martial arts career and most recently finished Alexis Davis by knockout at UFC 175 on July 5. In 2014, “Rowdy” defended her 135-pound women’s belt twice and finished both opponents in the very first round.

Following her last title defense, Rousey revealed that she injured her hand and would require surgery on her right knee.

There is no timeframe for her return.

Rousey becomes the first UFC fighter to win an ESPY award.
