Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke picked up his fourth victory in the octagon on Saturday night as the UFC hosted just its second event in Dublin, Ireland.
Norman Parke locked horns with returning Japanese veteran Naoyuki Kotani on the first bout of the main card which, along with the prelims, aired exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
UFC Fight Night 46 Results: Norman Parke dominates Naoyuki Kotani
Kotani tried to effectively use his grappling prowess by hunting for takedowns for the duration of the contest. But it was Parke who ended the first stanza on a high note, almost finishing his counterpart with elbows after assuming the mount position.
Kotani only ever threatened with a limp leg-lock attempt which was well defended. Parke majestically took charge in the stand-up department, seemingly overwhelming Kotani at times. The end came at 3:41 mark of the round as a string of unanswered elbows on the mat was all she wrote for Kotani, who was forced to succumb his 13-fight winning streak.
Parke also took it upon himself to call out Diego Sanchez afterwards in his post-fight interview.
