A welterweight showdown between Canadian Ryan Ford and American Jake Shields is set to headline the World Series of Fighting 14 fight card.
Ryan Ford takes on Jake Shields in World Series of Fighting 14 main event
Top MMA News first reported the news, which MMASucka has since confirmed with numerous sources.
Ford (22-4) is riding a six-fight winning streak dating back to early 2012. Most recently “The Real Deal” is coming off a highlight reel front kick knockout against Joel Powell at WSOF Canada 1 in February.
Shields (29–7–1, 1NC) signed with WSOF in April and was expected to make his debut at WSOF 11 in July against Jon Fitch, however was forced out with an injury. This will be Shields’ first time inside the cage since his UFC release in March after his UFC 171 loss to Hector Lombard.
WSOF 14 goes down on October 11 from the Northlands Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta and will be live on NBC Sports Network.
