Anthony Birchak released by Maximum Fighting Championship

|

The Maximum Fighting Championship has released their bantamweight champion Anthony Birchak.

Maximum Fighting Championship President Mark Pavelich announced the release on Thursday.

Birchak is unable to cross the border from the United States into Canada, which forced the organization to send him packing.

The first ever 135-pound champion was expected to defend his belt against Jesse Brock at MFC 41: All In on October 3, however that bout has since been removed.

Birchak (11-1) is riding a six-fight winning streak and was 2-0 inside the MFC ring. He defeated Ryan Benoit in his promotional debut by unanimous decision and won the title against Tito Jones by second round submission at MFC 38 last October.
