In a tale of two rounds, Bethe Correia conjured an incredible comeback on Saturday’s night UFC 177 main card, stopping ‘TUF’ stand-out Shyna Baszler brutally via strikes in round two.
The Brazilian had a tough going in the first stanza but turned the tides in the second for an emphatic finish.

The women’s Bantamweight bout took place at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento and was aired on pay-per-view.
In the first round, Baszler wasted little time in tying her opponent up against the cage. But when the fight eventually hit the mat, it was Correia who ended up in top position. Baszler, though, surged through a series of offensive maneuvers that duly scored points on the scorecard, as she ended the frame dominantly with a choke attempt as well.
It was a whole other story in the second round, however. The Brazilian decided to put her fisticuffs to the test.
Her continuous onslaught of unanswered strikes left Baszler helpless and defenseless up against the fence, forcing veteran referee John McCarthy to make a crucial intervention.
Correia has now stopped two fighters of the quartet of women who call themselves ‘The Four Horsewomen’ – she even took the liberty of calling current champ and leader of the group, Ronda Rousey, post-fight.
Final Result: Bethe Correia def. Shayna Baszler via TKO (Punches) at 1:56 of Round 2
