After Ben Rothwell knocked Alistair Overeem out in the first round in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 50, many people believed he should either retire or get cut by the promotion.  UFC President Dana White has other ideas for the former No. 1 contender.

White says Overeem still top 10 heavyweight, will receive another fight

He cleared up Overeem’s fate in the UFC by saying as he is still a top 10 heavyweight, he will not be cut and will be given another fight in the UFC.

He shared the news on the UFC’s official news show, UFC Tonight which airs every Wednesday night.

Overeem will likely be put up against Josh Barnett next, as that fight makes the most sense right now in the division.  Before Overeem’s loss, he was sitting at #7 in the division but has now dropped to the 10th position, barely in the top 10.
