Corey Anderson vs. Gian Villante added to UFC 181 in Las Vegas

|

UFC Light Heavyweight fighters Corey Anderson and Gian Villante are the fourth pair of fighters who will be sharing the cage at the potentially most stacked card of 2014, UFC 181.

UFC officials announced the bout matchup on Tuesday.

Anderson, who is the winner of ‘The Ultimate Fighter 19’ for light heavyweight was signed to the UFC on July 6th, where he won his UFC contact by defeating Matt Van Buren in the very first round in the co-main event of the TUF 19: Finale..

Villante (12-5) has had a mix of wins and losses in the past couple of years.  He started the year off with a TKO loss to Fabio Maldonado in March, but rebounded from the loss with a narrow split-decision over Sean O’Connell earlier this summer in New Zealand, which also earned him a ‘Fight of the Night’ $50,000 bonus.

UFC 181 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, on Dec. 6.  It is currently headlined by middleweight champion Chris Weidman taking on Vitor Belfort, and co-headlined by lightweight champ putting his title on the line against Gilbert Melendez.  It will be live on pay-per-view with preliminary bouts on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
