Rolando Dy vs. Kyle Aguon title fight headlines PXC 45 in Guam

|

PXC will crown its next Bantamweight champion in October.

Officials recently announced that Rolando Dy (5-2) and Kyle Aguon (7-4) will fight for the vacant PXC 135-lbs championship in the main event of PXC 45.

PXC 45 takes place October 24th at the UOG Fieldhouse in Guam, USA. As with previous events, the main card is expected to feature on a delayed stream via LIVESTREAM.

Guam’s very own Aguon has spent his entire career under the PXC banner. After a four-fight win streak which included a victory over current UFC prospect Russell Doane, Aguon came up short in his first bid to capture the title from then champ and also current UFC starlet, Michinori Tanaka. Aguon, though, got back in the mix this past June, submitting Troy Bantiag at PXC 44.

Rolando Dy, a 23-year-old Filipino fighter, suffered a submission defeat in his PXC debut. However, he’s since racked up a 4-0 record with the promotion and is riding high on a three-fight winning skid.

In the co-main event, two talented Featherweights are on a collision course. Australia’s own Alex ‘The Hulk’ Volkanovski (7-1) puts his four-fight winning run in jeopardy against PXC staple, Kyle Reyes (5-2).

Volkanovski has often shifted between weight classes since the launch of his career, fighting as high as up to 170-lbs. But the Australian has looked to have found a permanent home at 145-lbs in recent times. The lone blemish on his record to date was by none other than the highly touted, Corey Nelson.

Reyes, best known perhaps for his highlight reel flying knee knockout over Tae Kyun Kim at PXC 40, has been split between wins and losses in his past five outings. The Guam native is yet to be stopped via strikes or submission and for the first time in two years come fight night, he’ll be looking for back-to-back victories.

Elsewhere on the card, former UFC veteran Darren Uyenoyama (8-5) returns for the first time since his release from the Las Vegas-based outfit as he locks horns with rising star, Shane Alvarez (10-1).
