ONE FC 21: Roar of Tigers card complete with nine bouts

The card for ONE FC’s return to Malaysia is complete with nine fights.

ONE FC 21: Roar of Tigers takes place October 17 at the Putra Indoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The entire event streams LIVE on pay-per-view for global MMA viewers. Fans in Asia, meanwhile, can catch the main card action on FOX Sports 3.

The nine-bout main card for ONE FC 21 will be headlined by a Featherweight clash between Australia’s Rob Lisita (14-6) and Marat Gafurov (9-0) – who is the reigning M-1 Global 145-lbs champ. In the co-feature, Malaysia’s MMA superstar, Peter Davis (8-3), meets Vaughn Donayre (7-2).

Lisita saw a four-fight winning streak snapped in his previous ONE FC appearance with Eric Kelly securing a brilliant come-from-behind finish at ONE FC 18 in Taiwan. The 31-year-old, who trains with a plethora of talent at Phuket Top Team, needs a win to get back in the mix for the ONE FC Featherweight title.

Gafurov, from Russia, is unbeaten thus far, and set for his ONE FC debut. He started his career off in 2010 and has since won nine straight. Six of those victories ended in stoppages.

Davis, 33, is one of Malaysia’s finest in the MMA scene. After a 3-0 start in the organization, back-to-back losses against Eddie Ng and Ariel Sexton saw him fall behind the 155-lbs pecking order. He got back on track at ONE FC 12 last year though, before following it up with a TKO victory over Waqar Umar at ONE FC 14. He’s 5-1 overall under the ONE FC banner.

Donayre, a URCC veteran, opened his account with seven straight victories. He dropped the first setback of his career against veteran Gokhan Turkyilmaz at Global Fighting Championship 3 earlier this year, before succumbing to a first round submission defeat at the hands of Muhammad Walid at ONE FC 19 in Dubai. He’ll be looking to get his first ONE FC victory underway come fight night.

Several other fighters hold key spots on the running order as well. Legend FC staple Ev Ting (7-2) takes on the Philippines’ Edward Kelly (5-1), while Ann Osman (1-1) battles Aya Saeid Saber (2-4) in the only women’s bout of the eveing.

A battle of two of the region’s most accomplished Muay Thai fighters is also on the bill with Malaysia’s own Saiful Merican (3-1) locking horns with multi-time Lumpinee champ, Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke (2-0).

The complete ONE FC 21: Roar of Tigers fight card includes:
