UFC fans will be treated to not one but two events this Saturday.
First up is UFC Fight Night 53 from Sweden which is headlined by Rick Story vs. Gunnar Nelson. The double-header will then be closed by a main event between Rory MacDonald and Tarec Saffiedine in Halifax for UFC Fight Night 54.
UFC Fight Night 53 & 54 Kountermove Preview
Both events boast a ton of local talent and will keep fans on the edge of their seats for the entire day.
The image below is all of the prices of fighters in both the UFC Fight Night 53 and 54 Kountermove games. If you are interested in playing and unsure of whom to pick for your five, we will give you a bit of our insight.
Best Bets
I will preface with — both events’ main events are toss ups for me. You could easily pick either guy and they could come up big. I won’t be placing either the favorite or underdog below, because match-up wise they are way too tight.
Nordine Taleb ($5400) – Taleb is one of the most experienced Ultimate Fighters having been on two different seasons, sort of. He was a part of the household on TUF Nations and eliminated on TUF 19 in an elimination bout to get inside the house. After being on TUF Nations, he fought in the Finale and defeated Vik Grujic via unanimous decision. His bout against Li Jingliang at UFC Fight Night 54 is his to lose and in my opinion he won’t.
Niklas Backstrom ($5600) – He may be one of the highest priced fighters on the UFC Fight Night 53 game, but he is well worth it. Backstrom is undefeated at 8-0, 1NC, with four of those coming via TKO and two via submission. He is fighting in his own back yard, which can make things that much easier, or harder. However his opponent,Mike Wilkinson, had to travel from England and will have to deal with not only the flight but the hometown crowd against him.
Underdog Picks
Charles Rosa ($4200) – A huge underdog against a top notch fighter in Dennis Siver, Charles Rosa stepped up to the plate on just six days notice. If one thing is for certain, Rosa is game. He has been a highly touted prospect for years and this will definitely be a giant step up in competition, but if anyone’s ready for it, it’s the undefeated American Top Team fighter.
Bryan Caraway ($4100) – Caraway always seems to be the underdog in his fights and this one is no different. He is currently 4-1 inside the Octagon, with his lone loss being a very close split decision against Takeya Mizugaki. In is in for a tough task against Raphael Assuncao, but the Brazilian has not stepped into the cage since February and this could be the perfect opportunity for Mr. Miesha Tate to step up in the 135-pound division.
My picks
A few of my picks for underdog and best bets don’t actually show up on my picks because these fights are really close and you just never know. If you were however to take a couple underdogs then these would be the two to take.
