A Bantamweight bout between Ricky Camp (4-3) and Mark Abelardo (7-3) has been scrapped just a week before it was set to take place.
PXC officials announced recently that Camp suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw from Friday’s PXC 45 proceedings. With little time to find a suitable replacement opponent for Abelardo, the bout was scratched.
PXC 45 takes place at Guam’s UOG Fieldhouse. The event is expected to stream, free-of-charge, via tape delay on LIVESTREAM. The running order which previously consisted of nine bouts, has now been reduced to eight.
Camp is a PXC veteran who went 0-3 under the promotion’s banner over a two year stretch. Prior to that, however, he started off with 2-0 start in the outfit in 2011. ‘2 Slick’ picked up a submission victory in his most recent appearance in Saipan’s Rites of Passage league.
Team Quest’s Abelardo, meanwhile, has a resume littered with bouts against the likes of Nova Uniao’s Rodolfo Marques and ONE FC veteran, Ev Ting. He’s on a stellar 3-0 in this calendar year alone, and was last seen at PRO Fighting 9 with a lopsided decision triumph.
Additionally, PXC confirmed that Abelardo will make his promotional debut in November instead, at PXC 46.
The updated PXC 45 line-up now includes:
- Kyle Aguon vs. Rolando Dy (For vacant PXC Bantamweight Championship)
- Alex Volkanovski vs. Kyle Reyes
- Darren Uyenoyama vs. Shane Alvarez
- Brogan Walker vs. Yoojin Jung
- Toby Misech vs. Trevin Jones
- Mike Sanchez vs. Scotty Eclavea
- Tyrone Jones vs. Hong Sung Chan
- McKlane Alfred vs. Vince Masga
