As always the oddsmakers jumped on board to give us their take on the new interim heavyweight championship match and Werdum comes in as the favorite.

Originally opening on www.Bodog.ca, Werdum came in at -230, but with the public making their opinions known, he has since moved to a -260 favorite, with Hunt sitting at +200.

Werdum (18-5-1) has earned his crack at Velasquez’s heavyweight title after going on a four-fight winning streak with victories over Roy Nelson, Mike Russow, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and most recently a decisive decision against Travis Browne.

Hunt (10-8-1) will look to win the most important match-up of his career at UFC 180. Since coming into the UFC with a 5-6 record, the “Super Samoan” has since gone 5-2-1.

UFC 180 will mark the first time the organization has been to Mexico and will take place on November 15 from Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
