Just 24-hours prior to his UFC Fight Night 56 co-main event battle with John Lineker, Ian McCall was forced to pull out of the fight due to an illness.

Even though the two did not step inside the Octagon, according to FOX Sports’ Damon Martin, Lineker and McCall both received their show money.

With the flyweight number one contender John Dodson out with an injury, this bout was expected to be for a shot at Demetrious Johnson’s 125-pound gold.

McCall (13-4-1) is riding a two-fight winning streak, with decision victories over Iliarde Santos and most recently Brad Pickett.

Lineker (23-7) lost to Ali Bagautinov at UFC 169, but bounced back with a third round TKO victory over Alptekin Özkılıç, which also earned him $50,000 for ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.
