A women’s bantamweight match-up between two former title challengers, Miesha Tate and Sara McMann is set for UFC 183.
Miesha Tate vs Sara McMann set for UFC 183
The latest match-up was announced on Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight.”
Tate (15-5) is riding a two-fight winning streak, with victories over Liz Carmouche and most recently Rin Nakai at UFC Fight Night 52. Prior to those two wins, Tate was on the first two-fight losing skid of her seven-year fighting career.
McMann (8-1) bounced back from the first loss of her career against Ronda Rousey at UFC 170, with a split-decision victory against Lauren Murphey at UFC Fight Night 47 in August. The former Olympic freestyle wrestler started off her professional MMA career on an eight-fight winning streak.
The Tate vs. McMann fight will likely take place on the UFC 183 main card.
UFC 183 takes place in Las Vegas, on Jan. 31 and is headlined by a highly anticipated middleweight matchup between former champion Anderson Silva vs. former welterweight title contender Nick Diaz.
