Travis Browne and Brendan Schaub squared off in a heavyweight battle on the UFC 181 main card.
The two combatants were very tentative in the first minute of the fight. Schaub landed a couple of nice punches including a right uppercut. Schaub was loading up on his shots, but Browne stayed a distance. With just under three-minutes left in the round, Schaub was able to land two takedowns. The two got back to their feet and as Schaub threw a punch, Browne landed a big uppercut that dropped Schaub. Browne was able to mount Schaub, but on a number of occasions Schaub hipped out. Browne took Schaub’s back and let Browne tee off on him. Referee Mario Yamasaki called a stop to the fight with just under thirty seconds left.
