A middleweight bout between Derek Brunson and Ed Herman has been forced off the UFC on FOX 13 fight card.

Just hours before the contest, the UFC on FOX panel announced that Brunson had come down with a stomach issue and was forced to withdraw from the preliminary bout.

Brunson (12-3) is 3-1 inside the Octagon and most recently took home a one-sided unanimous decision against Lorenz Larkin at UFC 177 in August. His UFC Fight Night 35 loss to Yoel Romero earned the Jackson’s MMA product $50,000 for ‘Fight of the Night’.
Herman (22-10, 1NC) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Rafael Natal in May. This bout will be the season 3 TUF competitor’s second of 2014.
Brunson is hoping to reschedule as soon as possible.

UFC on FOX 13 goes down on December 13 from the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona and will be headlined by heavyweight’s Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic.
