After 35 professional mixed martial arts bouts, Jamie Varner has called it quits.

On Saturday evening in front of his home town, Phoenix, Arizona, Varner announced the time had come to cap off his career.

The 30-year-old has lost his last four outings, which included the most recent, being at UFC on FOX 13 against Drew Dober.

Varner began his time in the cage all the way back in 2003. Fast forward eleven years later, Varner can look back and be proud of his many accomplishments. Not only has he fought the best in the sport, but has earned many awards throughout those years.

Check out some of Varner’s career highlights below, as well as a highlight video created by DreistStudios.

  • WEC Lightweight Champion
  • Defended the WEC Championship Twice
  • Three ‘Fight of the Night’ Honors inside the UFC
  • World MMA Award for ‘Fight of the Year’ in 2013 (Jamie Varner vs. Joe Lauzon)
