ONE FC 24: Dynasty of Champions fight card finalized with 10 bouts

|

The original plan was to host an event in China on October 3. However, injuries sustained by key personnel on the card left ONE FC with little options but to postpone the event near the turn of the year.

ONE FC 24: Dynasty of Champions goes down Friday at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing, China. The entire card will be carried LIVE on pay-per-view for global MMA fans, while viewers in Asia can catch the main card LIVE on FOX Sports 3.

Headlining the ten-bout running order are a pair of Chinese MMA starlets in Ji Xian (11-2) and Song Ya Dong (4-0). A highly touted prospect out of China, Xian, 27, is a former title-holder in the now defunct Legend FC promotion. ‘The Executioner’ is yet to see a third round in his career thus far and all eleven of his wins have come by way of tapout.

Dong, meanwhile, is a veteran of China-based promotion RUFF, already amassing a 2-0 record this calendar year. At just a tender age of 20, Dong is recognized as of the brightest prospects out of the country who will be in for his toughest test yet.

In the co-main event, the Lightweight title picture might get some clarity when Australia’s Adrian Pang (20-8-2) clashes with Vincent Latoel (15-15-2) in a three-rounder.

Making his ONE FC debut, Pang needs no introductions in the South Pacific MMA scene. The Australian-Chinese fighter holds Lightweight MMA titles in Australia’s Warriors Realm, Hextreme, and CFC promotions. Pang has won five of his last six outings, which includes a Unanimous Decision triumph over current UFC fighter, Yui Chul Nam.

Latoel shocked the Asian MMA landscape when he stopped rising contender, Eddie Ng, via strikes in their 155-lbs tussle at ONE FC 20. A submission setback to Caros Fodor at ONE FC 20, however, momentarily halted the Dutchman’s ascend to the top of the pile. He will now look to build on the 2-2 record he’s picked up since linking up with the promotion.

Also on the card is a Catchweight tilt between returning Portuguese veteran Rafael Silva (39-14) and unbeaten Polish prospect, Michal Pasternak (10-0). And rounding off the main card will be a Lightweight contest between Melvin Manhoef protege Willy Ni (15-9) and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Ariel Sexton (8-3, 1 NC).

In the prelims, ONE FC returns with its one night 4-man tournament format to crown its national champions. But this time around, there will be two tournaments set to take the spotlight.

Li Xu (0-0) vs. Wang Wei (0-0) and Li Wei Bin (0-0) vs. Hao Yi Jie (0-0) make up the brackets for the Flyweight tournament, while Wang Ya Wei (0-0) vs. Li Gen (0-0) and He Nan Nan (1-1) vs. Li Kai Wen (0-0) form the 145-lbs brackets.

The winners of the respective bouts will then go on to compete in the finals on the same night.
