A light heavyweight match-up between Glover Teixeira and Rashad Evans has been pinned as the main event at UFC Fight Night 61 in February.
Globo was first to report the bout and the UFC Brazil Twitter account later made it official.
Glover Teixeira vs Rashad Evans announced as UFC Fight Night 61 main event
Teixeira (22-4) is riding the first two-fight losing skid of his career. After amassing an impressive twenty-fight winning streak, the Brazilian earned himself a crack at the 205-pound gold. At UFC 172, he lost a unanimous decision to Jon Jones and followed up with a decision loss to Phil Davis at UFC 179 in October.
Evans (19-3-1) has not been inside the Octagon since his TKO victory against Chael Sonnen in November of last year. A leg injury forced Evans out of action early last year and he has been sidelined ever since. The Blackzilian will come into this bout on a two-fight winning streak.
UFC Fight Night 61 goes down on February 22 from at the Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
