A high stakes welterweight match-up is being slated for UFC 186 in Montreal, as Rory MacDonald and Hector Lombard are expected to go to battle.
Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard verbally agree to square off at UFC 186
UFC officials have yet to make the formal announcement, however a number of sources have stated that the two have verbally agreed on the 170-pound bout.
MacDonald (18-2) after defeating Tarec Saffiedine via TKO, the Canadian was expected to get the next title shot. Unfortunately a very close fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler has forced the trilogy fight between them. MacDonald is currently riding a three-fight winning streak.
Lombard (35-4-1, 1NC) is also riding a three fight winning streak. Most recently he defeated Josh Burkman by unanimous decision at UFC 182. Lombard has had difficulties finding opponents inside the Octagon.
MacDonald is ranked at #2 on UFC.com, while Lombard is sitting at #5.
UFC 186 is expected to go down on April 25 from the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec.
