The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA is a long way from the confines of Albequerque, NM, where UFC 184’s much-hyped debutant Holly Holm came from to take on TUF 18 competitor Raquel Pennington. Things did not go as many in the peanut gallery expected, with Pennington proving a tougher out for the former boxing champion than the bulk of pundits expected. Despite a rough third round, “The Preacher’s Daughter” was able to eke out a split decision victory over “Rocky.”
