Demian Maia vs Ryan Laflare UFC Fight Night 62 highlights
In what was at once the UFC Fight Night 62 main event, a slow-paced fight, and the second most bizarre bout of the night, UFC veteran Demian Maia took on the rising Ryan Laflare in a welterweight contest. Maia easily won the first four rounds inside the cage at the in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but gassed quickly and completely in the final stanza. This allowed Laflare to do enough to win the round against Maia, who resorted to guard-flopping so much that referee “Big” John McCarthy deducted a point for it at the end of the round. The Brazilian would take home the unanimous decision victory, despite that.
