On just over one week’s notice, middleweight Micah Brakefield will take on former Fivestar champ Brad Stewart.

It wasn’t disclosed why Stewart’s original opponent Markhaile Wedderburn refused to fight, however President Justin Donally had some choice words to say.

Markhaile Wedderburn is the most unprofessional dishonest fighter I’ve dealt with in 14 shows,” Donally said on his official Facebook page. “Promotors beware!”

Brakefield (5-5) snapped a two-fight losing skid, when he finished Josh Griffin in just 58-seconds at Hard Knocks Fighting 42. “Mitey” has been eager to stay active, however it has been tough for the wily middleweight to find opponents.

Stewart (7-3) is coming off his first loss in over two years. At Fivestar Fight League 13, Stewart lost his middleweight gold in an epic fight against Brendan Kornberger. Prior to the loss, the Fort St. John native was riding a three-fight winning streak.

Fivestar Fight League 14 goes down April 24, 2015 from the Fort St. John Curling Rink in Fort St. John, B.C. In the main event, Duncan Wilson defends his welterweight strap against Aaron Shmyr.
