The upcoming UFC on FOX 16 card continues to grow with the addition of a lightweight bout between Daron Cruickshank and James Krause.
UFC officials announced the matchup on Friday.
James Krause vs Daron Cruickshank set for UFC on FOX 16
Cruickshank (16-6, 1 NC) had a very active 2014 with five Octagon appearances, racking up a record last year of 3-1, 1 NC. His most recent win was a decision over Anthony Njokuani, but in December went to a No Contest with K.J. Noons due to an eye-poke. His start to 2015, however, didn’t go as planned, as he was stopped by rising prospect Beneil Dariush.
Krause (21-7) is in need of a win, currently riding a two-fight skid with decision losses to Jorge Masvidal and more recently Valmir Lazaro. His last win came against Jamie Varner at UFC 173 last May, stopping him due to an ankle injury.
The card placement for the bout is unknown at this time.
UFC on FOX 16 takes place live from United Center in Chicago, IL on July 25. Headlining the event is a bantamweight title fight between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao.
