An important battle between two ranked lightweights has been added to San Diego’s UFC Fight Night 70, as Bobby Green takes on Al Iaquinta.

Ariel Helwani reported the matchup via FOX Sports 1 on Saturday night.

Green (23-6) is coming off a disappointing unanimous decision loss over top contender Edson Barboza last November at UFC Fight Night 57.  However, prior to that, he picked up a close decision win over Josh Thomson, unarguably his biggest win of his career.

Iaquinta (12-3-1) is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, with TKO wins over Joe Lauzon, Ross Pearson, and Rodrigo Damm.  In his last outing earlier this month, he picked up a controversial decision win over Jorge Masvidal.

The card placement for the bout is unknown at this time.

UFC Fight Night 70 takes place live from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA on July 15.  In the main event, Frank Mir takes on Todd Duffee in a heavyweight matchup.
