Welterweight prospect Matt Dwyer has signed a new four-fight contract extension with the UFC.
Despite going 1-2 inside the Octagon, the Kelowna native announced on his Facebook page the new deal.
Matt Dwyer signs four-fight contract extension with UFC
“Nothing like that feeling of weighing in for the biggest fight promotion in the world #UFC Thousands of people starring at you all you can do is stare back. Fearless is what you have to be. Battle tested and ready for war. Im excited to announce that I’ve been re-signed to a new four fight contract!#HereToLeaveMyMark”
Dwyer (8-3) made his UFC debut in late 2014 after riding a five-fight winning streak under the BFL banner, with notable victories over DaMarques Johnson and Shonie Carter.
Two of his three UFC outings earned him $50,000 bonuses — a superman punch knockout against William Macário and a decision loss to Alan Jouban earned him ‘Performance of the Night’ honors.
All eight of Dwyer’s wins have come by way of knockout.
No word as to when the 25-year-old will make his next appearance inside the Octagon. Keep it locked to MMASucka.com for more on Dwyer and the UFC as it arises.
