ONE Championship has announced a handful of bouts for their return to Phnom Penh on December 5.
Undefeated Hawaiian lightweight standout Lowen Tynanes (7-0) has impressed in his time so far inside the ONE cage. He has used his world-class, relentless wrestling ability to amass a 3-0 record with the promotion, including two big finishes. He meets Rasul Yakhyaev (9-2) of Russia who is adept in both striking and grappling, but mostly relies on his grappling ability. He is considered a very skilled Russian prospect with massive potential.
Japanese flyweight “Riku Shibuya” (5-1) is known for boasting an unorthodox style with slick combinations. He will face Anatpong Bunrad (5-1) in a flyweight contest. Bunrad is known for being a very well-rounded martial artist and holds a 2-0 record in the ONE cage, including a brutal kick knockout over Marcellinus.
Sam Ang Dun (5-2) will look to make it 6-straight when he faces Chan Rothana (3-1) in a rematch of last year’s featherweight tournament final. Dun won the tournament after stopping Chin Heng in the semi-finals before defeating Rotha via an uneventful draw. Both men are known for their finishing ability. Dun has not fought since drawing with Rothana, Rothana has however fought once, knocking out Ramon Gonzalez in March.
Chan Heng (8-2) will return to the ONE cage after picking up a win at Full Metal Dojo 4 in February. In his sole bout under the ONE banner he was submitted by Meas Meu. His return will see him face Mario Satya Wirawan (3-2) who also lost his sole ONE bout, losing to Peringkat in September. This was his last bout.
Chan Sam Art (5-2) is a 27-year old bantamweight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with tremendous grappling ability, picking up four of his five wins via submission. He will take on Meas Meu (2-0) who made his ONE Championship debut one to remember when he submitted countrymen Chan Heng with a choke.
Tharoth Sam (2-1), with both of her victories coming impressively by technical submission. She has also shown glimmers of striking ability, and she hopes to show more when she takes on India’s Jeet Toshi (2-2) is a lackluster 0-2 in the ONE cage, but was brought back due to her ruthless, hard-nosed style.
Two other female Cambodian fighters, Eh Ya Nut and Vy Srey Chai will also be facing each other in the ONE Championship cage. This will be Vy Srey Chai’s second ONE Championship fight after her first lost to Tharoth Sam September last year in ONE: RISE OF THE KINGDOM while Eh Ya Nut will be making her debut.
