Prestige FC has added an exciting middleweight bout to its lineup for Prestige FC 2: Queen City Coronation presented by 104.9 The Wolf taking place on Saturday, March 12th at The Orr Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Smetana vs. Smith set for Prestige FC 2 card
Saskatchewan’s own Devon “Mr. Boomtruck” Smith will tangle with American invader Keith “The Banana” Smetana in a featured main-card bout. The Prestige FC 2 roster is topped by the organization’s first title fight as Kurt “The Hurt” Southern meets Nick “Nyquil” Rhoads for the featherweight belt (all fights subject to ACS approval).
“You have to love it when fighters call each other out, back up their words, and agree to battle it out,” said Cord Crowthers, CEO & Matchmaker for Prestige FC.
“Both guys posted that they wanted to fight on the card and they then immediately wanted to fight each other. A little spirited banter back-and-forth cemented the deal. A great plan came together and the fans are going reap the benefits.”
Smith (3-1) is originally from La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and now fights out of Lethbridge, Alberta. The 27-year-old has won three straight with a total combined time of only 4:33. Two of the victories have come via submission and one by knockout.
“I am super excited to be a part of this event,” said Smith.
“I know Prestige FC is looking to put on an exciting show which means they want action and knockouts which means they want me on the card. So here I am and I promise not to disappoint.”
Smetana (10-6, 1 NC) has won three of his last four outings and has finished his opponents in all 10 of his victories. The 31-year-old, who fights out of Parkersburg, West Virginia, has notched eight first-round wins.
“I’m ready to get to hard training, smash Devon Smith, and win by first-round submission,” said Smetana.
