Melvin Guillard returns vs. Mike Bronzoulis at Bellator 149

|

Bellator MMA’s big card in Houston on February 19 just got a bit bigger with the addition of  lightweight bout between KO-artist Melvin Guillard and former Legacy champion Mike Bronzoulis.

The match-up was announced by Bellator President, Scott Coker, on Twitter.

Nine year UFC-vet Guillard (32-15-2, 2NC) entered Bellator MMA coming off a loss in WSOF to lightweight champion Justin Gaethje. He debuted for Bellator on August 28 against ‘hand-picked’ opponent Brandon Girtz and lost a rather one-sided split decision. His last win came in July of 2014.

Bronzoulis (18-9-1) is a veteran of promotions like Legacy Fights and Strikeforce. Following a stint on Bellator MMA/Spike TV’s “Fight Master“, Bronzoulis met veteran Joe Riggs in the tournament finals at Bellator 106 in 2013, losing a decision. Since then he has fought for many promotions, most notably winning the Legacy FC lightweight title. He returned to Bellator in September at ‘Dynamite 1‘, losing to Josh Thomson.

This fight will likely be on the main card.

Bellator 149 is set to take place on February 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It will be headlined by a third fight between legends; Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock. The co-main event sees two of Florida’s biggest brawlers Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 throw down.
