Long time UFC welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger has been cut from the organization.

Jake Ellenberger released from UFC

The UFC has not officially announced the release and Ellenberger has denied it, but Twitter account @UFCFIGHTERSiNFO posted that his profile had been deleted from the UFC website.

Ellenberger (30-11) went 1-5 in his last six outings, with his lone victory to Josh Koscheck, who was cut just one fight after that loss. At one point in his UFC tenure, “The Juggernaut” amassed an outstanding six-fight winning streak, with victories over names such as Mike Pyle, Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez.

In Ellenberger’s most recent outing, the 30-year-old came up short against Tarec Saffiedine at UFC on FOX 18 in January.

No word as to what is next for the Kings MMA talent, but I’m sure the likes of World Series of Fighting and Bellator would snatch up a former top-10 fighter in a heartbeat.
