At UFC 200, Conor McGregor was expected to take on Nate Diaz in the main event. In odd fashion, McGregor took to Twitter on Tuesday morning with a very cryptic message for his fans.

Conor McGregor pens cryptic tweet; Ariel Helwani says it’s true
With everyone stirring and wondering whether the statement was true or false. MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani sent out the following tweet, which states that by all accounts it seems to be true.
Multiple sources are adamant at this time that McGregor’s tweet isn’t a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind. Reason(s) behind it is unclear.

McGregor has been coached by the man behind SBG Ireland, John Kavanagh since the beginning of his career and he even took to Twitter to say how, “was fun while it lasted.”

Now to lay cement to the claim, the Irish bad boy’s opponent at UFC 200, Diaz took to Twitter and stated he was retiring as well.

We are 19 days removed from April Fools’ Day, so this could very well be no joke. If it were true, the UFC 200 event is in shambles and the Zuffa brass will be looking to get the big event upped a little bit more.
