A match-up that was supposed to go down at Battlefield Fight League 44 between Ash Mashreghi and Tristan Connelly has now been rescheduled for September 10 at BFL 45.

Mashreghi (6-4) will make his lightweight debut in this match-up after being handed his first loss in three years against Curtis Harriott at BFL 41. Prior to that blemish on his record, “Smash” had racked up six wins in a row, all of which coming by way of stoppage. The 28-year-old was expected to face current BFL welterweight kingpin Chris Anderson at BFL 43, however health issues arose, so he has been out of action since January 2016.

Connelly (5-5) has been on the pro scene since 2010. The Adam Ryan Checkmat product put together his first two-fight winning streak, but it came between 2013 and 2015 — with victories over Jonathan Dubois and Shawn Albrecht. Following the Albrecht victory, Connelly was expected to face BFL featherweight champ Jeremy Kennedy, however that bout was cancelled. In his most recent outing, “Boondock” lost a unanimous decision against Montreal’s Mario Pereira at BFL 39 in October 2015.

BFL 45 goes down on September 10 from the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam B.C.
