Jimmie Rivera vs. Bryan Caraway – UFC Fight Night 103 – January 15
Phoenix has reportedly received a huge bantamweight co-main event that pits Jimmie “El Terror” Rivera against Bryan Caraway.
The bout was first reported by Gabe Killian of MMA OddsBreaker.
Rivera (20-1) enters the bout on a super impressive 19-fight win streak. He is a veteran of Bellator, Ring of Combat, WSOF, and CFFC. Since joining the UFC roster last year, Rivera has gone a perfect 4-0, most recently beating the legendary Urijah Faber at UFC 203.
Caraway (21-7) is constantly overlooked in the bantamweight division despite his only two losses in the UFC being razor-thin decision defeats to Takeya Mizugaki and perennial contender Raphael Assunção. Since joining the UFC following TUF 14 in 2011 he has amassed a 6-2 record, recently defeating Eddie Wineland and Aljamain Sterling.
UFC Phoenix takes place at the Talking Stick Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, January 15.
If this match-up does, in fact, get booked, it will serve as the co-main event to UFC Phoenix (UFC Fight Night 103). BJ Penn returns vs. Yair Rodriguez in the night’s main event. Other bouts on the card include a flyweight contest between Sergio Pettis and Jussier Formiga, as well as a welterweight fight between Ben Saunders and Court McGee.
Here is the full 10-fight card courtesy of Tapology, more bouts TBA.
