Inaugural Light Heavyweight champion Klidson de Abreu has been training hard ever since he captured the title in devastating fashion against Timo Feucht, at last August’s Brave 8: The Rise of Champions. And the Brazilian is already “itching” to get back to the Brave cage and defend his title, reaffirming himself as the promotion’s top Light Heavyweight fighter.
Klidson, who splits time between the up-and-coming Evolução Thai gym and his jiu-jitsu friends at Gracie Barra, wants to fight as soon as possible and is hoping for a spot in one of Brave’s first 2018 shows.
Brave champ Klidson de Abreu ‘itching’ to defend title, wants to fight in Bahrain
“I want to fight soon, man. I’m itching to get back in there and make sure everyone knows I’m the best. I’ve been training really hard since my title win, haven’t lost a step really, I’m ready to go and eager to get back to competition. Hopefully, they’ll book my first title defense right at the beginning of next year. That would be ideal”, says Klidson.
The Brazilian was also eager to watch Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions and has been impressed by the Bahrain crowd and by the level of fights. Klidson says he would like to defend his title in Bahrain next.
“Man, Brave 9 was so cool. The fights were awesome, and you could see how the crowd was feeding energy to the fighters. I really want to fight in Bahrain. I’ve fought in Abu Dhabi for Brave, and now I want to go to Brave’s backyard and feed off that energy too. I’m going to tell my bosses to give me a fight in Bahrain, for sure”, laughed Klidson.
