The UFC 230 co-main event is set and boy is it a doozy. Nate Diaz returns to the Octagon to take on Dustin Poirier.

The Los Angeles Times first reported the matchup.

Diaz (19-11) has not fought since his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in 2016. The Stockton native stepped inside the cage on back to back occassions, submitting the Irish bad boy at UFC 196. Diaz has not competed at lightweight since he beat Michael Johnson 2015.

Poirier (24-5, 1 NC) is coming off a TKO victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC on FOX 30. “The Diamond” was expected to sit out and wait for a title shot, however, it looks like money talks. Poirier is currently riding a 4-0, 1NC streak.

UFC 230 goes down on November 3 from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Also featured on the card are Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman, as well as Derek Brunson and Israel Adesanya.
