UFC welterweight Sean Strickland was injured in a motorcycle accident this past weekend.

Following his surgery, the 27-year-old posted the following video on Instagram giving details of the incident.

“I was riding back from Kings [MMA], and I got in an accident,” he said. “It wasn’t my fault, but I’ve been blacked out for a good minute. I just came to after surgery. It’s going to be a long road back, but I love fighting, so I’ll get back on the ball and make it happen. Thanks for the support.”

From the sounds of Strickland, he is in good spirits and wants to fight in the future. But it will be a long road to recovery.

The 27-year-old last fought at UFC Fight Night 138 when he TKO’d Nordine Taleb in Moncton, New Brunswick. With that victory, the active welterweight improved his record inside the Octagon to 7-3 and 20-3 overall.
