After recently announcing the venue for March 29th’s CES 55, the organization made news Tuesday announcing a headlining bout for the event. CES welterweight champion, Jeremiah Wells returns for the first defense of his title when he takes on Bellator veteran Vinicius de Jesus.
Vinicius de Jesus
De Jesus is veteran of Bellator having fought for the organization in his four previous bouts. His record with the promotion sits an impressive mark of 3-1, including two stoppage victories. De Jesus handily defeated a pair of touted New England fighters in Tim Caron and James Boran while with Bellator. Caron lost to the CES title challenger by way of unanimous decision while Boran fell by 2nd round submission.
Over the course of 9 professional fights, de Jesus holds a record of 7-2. In his 7 victories, he earned 5 stoppages. Three by KO/TKO, and two by submission. The Brazilian fighter looks to add a belt to his resume and extend his winning streak to 3 at CES 55.

The champion, Jeremiah Wells earned CES gold at CES 52. There he took on Jason Norwood in the organizations’ first event held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wells managed a unanimous decision in his battle with Norwood for the vacant CES welterweight title.
Wells earned a shot at the vacant title on the back of impressive performances inside the CES cage. He debuted with the organization at CES 49 with a 57 second knockout of Gary Balletto Jr. on the main card. Wells then competed on the very next event, CES 50. There he took on The Ultimate Fighter season 16 competitor Jon Manley. Wells defeated Manley by way of unanimous decision.
