The world of MMA and pro wrestling have once again collided. Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will meet Brock Lesnar for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at WWE: Crown Jewel. Oddsmakers have Velasquez sitting as a betting favorite in his WWE debut.

Our friends at BetOnline have Velasquez sitting at a -200, with the WWE champion Lesnar a +150 underdog.

Velasquez made the transition from MMA to rasslin’ earlier this year. He signed a multi-fight deal with Mexican lucha libre promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. In his promotional debut, he was a part of a 6-man trio action. He teamed with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown to take on Texano Jr, Taurus, and a mystery partner who turned out to be Killer Kross. The former UFC heavyweight donned a luchador mask through the whole match and showed off his athleticism.

Cain Velasquez looks for WWE gold

The man who took the UFC heavyweight title away from Lesnar made his first appearance in front of the WWE fans at SmackDown on Fox’s 20th-anniversary show. He was accompanied by Rey Mysterio and attacked Lesnar. This led to the eventual set-up of their championship match at Crown Jewel.

WWE: Crown Jewel goes down on October 31, 2019, from King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
