Not once, but twice has Marlon Vera has had his scheduled fights postponed. “Chito” was slated to compete at UFC on ESPN 8 in March and UFC 249 in April, however, they were cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to MMAJunkie.com, Vera was expected to compete at UFC Fight Night: Jacksonville on May 16 against Song Yadong. Well, a Tweet from the 27-year-old states that Yadong is out and he has a formidable opponent that he would like to step in to replace him.

Vera (15-5-1) is currently on a five-fight winning streak, with all five of those victories coming via stoppage. The Team Oyama product has yet to fight in 2020, but was very active in 2019, fighting three times. Most recently, Vera picked up a third-round TKO against Andre Ewell this past October.

Faber (35-11) fought twice since his short-lived retirement, going 1-1. The UFC Hall of Famer picked up a giant TKO victory over Ricky Simon in his first fight back, but fell short to Petr Yan, losing via head-kick knockout in December of last year.

There is no timeframe for Faber to return to the octagon, however, he is never one to back down from a challenge.
