ONE Championship’s return on July 31 finally has a full card for No Surrender.
Initially, the event, ONE: No Surrender, was announced with three marquee ONE Super Series bouts, including two title tilts. ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon vs. Petchdam Petchyindee Academy, ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy vs. Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong vs. Superbon.
ONE: No Surrender Set for July 31
Three more bouts have been announced to round out the action for the closed-door event – including the mixed martial arts return of Stamp Fairtex.
Fairtex was last seen earlier in 2020 when she put her ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship on the line against Janet Todd. After a closely-contested battle, Todd got her hand raised and put a halt to Stamp’s historic bid to hold three titles in three sports (she is the current ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion).
She remained undefeated in MMA at 4-0, and her quest for history continues in MMA against Sunisa Srisen.
Joining her in mixed martial arts action will be Mark Fairtex Abelardo and Fabricio Andrade. Completing the event is another Muay Thai affair between the electric Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Panpayak Jitmuangnon. It will be the seventh career meeting between the two, with Panpayak holding an edge in the series at 4-1-1.
The event will be the start of ONE returning to a full schedule. On Tuesday, ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced an additional nine closed-door events to take place between August and October.
It is a positive sign that another major player in the martial arts world ramps up their schedule and allows their athletes to compete again.
ONE: No Surrender will emanate from Bangkok with its six-bout event. In America, the event will be broadcast via the B/R Live app.
