Contract Recipients:

All five winners received contracts tonight. It was pretty surprising. Dustin Stolzfus, Adrian Yanez, Cory McKenna, Impa Kasanganay, and TJ Laramie all received contracts.

Dustin Stoltzfus def. Joe Pyfer via TKO (Elbow Injury) at 4:21 of Round 1

Feedback: Ouch! During a scramble/takedown, Joe Pyfer landed awkwardly and dislocated his elbow. Tough way to lose the fight, but he’ll be invited back for another shot once he’s healed up. Dustin Stolzfus gets the win, but there’s not enough to know how talented he is. I’m guessing he gets brought back for a shot at a contract.

Adrian Yanez def. Brady Huang via TKO at 0:39 of Round 1

Feedback: Yanez absolutely blitzed Huang and finished him inside of 40 seconds. Yanez landed multiple big shots and dropped Brady Huang and finished him. Adrian Yanez will undoubtedly get a contract with the UFC and I can’t wait to see him compete in the Octagon. He has legitimate boxing skills and hands.

Cory McKenna def. Vanessa Demopoulos via Unanimous Decision

Feedback: The UFC really pushing Demopoulos’ career as a stripper as the main story here. She’s even written a book to help young ladies entering the industry navigate the business. Interesting. Demopoulos has some slick submissions. McKenna controlled the ground and pound and standup. I don’t see either fighter earning a contract just yet, but with experience, they’ll both wind up in the mix.

T.J. Laramie def. Daniel Swain via TKO (Rib Injury) at 5:00 of Round 1

Feedback: Both of these guys are talented and experienced fighters. This fight could easily currently be a preliminary fight on any UFC card. Great scrambles and exchanges on the mat. So nice to see such talented grapplers go at it. Laramie wound up controlling the top and smashing Swain with ground and pound. Daniel Swain quit between rounds, citing a rib injury. Give T.J. Laramie a contract!

Impa Kasanganay def. Anthony Adams via Unanimous Decision

Feedback: I’m not sure Kasanganay did enough to earn a contract. Kasanganay is impossibly strong but doesn’t have a tremendously developed skillset. The second time wasn’t a charm for Adams, as his second try to earn a contract via the Dana White Contender Series ended in a decision loss.
