Former UFC heavyweight champion, Fabricio Werdum has signed with the Professional Fighters League, it has recently been announced. One of the pioneers of the sport, Werdum has done it all. The former Pride, StrikeForce and UFC man has a phenomenal record. With 34 professional fights, Fabricio Werdum holds wins over Cain Velasquez, Fedor Emelianeko, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Alistar Overeem.
PFL Win the Race
When news broke that Fabricio Werdum’s contract with the UFC was up, questions were asked ‘Where next?’. The Brazilian heavyweight most recently defeated Alexander Gustaffson by submission on Fight Island. Rumours of Werdum signing with Bellator circulated, with a potential rematch with Fedor looming. It wasn’t to be, however.

PFL have got their man and Fabricio Werdum joins a strong PFL heavyweight division for 2021. Names include former UFC man, Justin Willis as well as brother to the welterweight champion, Mohammad Usman. Standout of the 2019 season, Ali Isaev, who went 5-0 also is one to keep an eye on in the division.
As per their website, the PFL season is set to kick off in April. It is yet unclear as to when Fabricio Werdum will make his debut, however.
Werdum joins top stars Rory McDonald and Kayla Harrison on the PFL roster. With these three names alone, the promotion is making a name for itself as one of the more stacked rosters to date.
