Saturday evening’s fight card has been plagued by COVID-19. The main event was expected to be a heavyweight battle between Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. However, Blaydes was diagnosed with COVID-19. We will dive into our UFC on ESPN 18 DraftKings fantasy picks in this series.
The new main event is in the light heavyweight division, as Devin Clark will face Anthony Smith.
There are plenty of fighters to choose from, but with DraftKings, you have to be strategic. We will give you two locks and one underdog pick.
LOCKS
Kai Kamaka III ($9,200)
Each and every fight on this card is close in terms of betting lines. However, one guy that comes in as a decent favorite is Kai Kamaka III. Kamaka is a -290 favorite, with his opponent, Jonathan Pearce sitting at +260. Kamaka has won an impressive six fights in a row. The only setback is that the Hawaiian has gone to the judge’s scorecards in all six of those fights.
Su Mudaerji ($9,100)
The largest favorite on the card is Su Mudaerji, who sits at -305 against Malcolm Gordon who is a +275. A tough fight to pick on paper, as both men have finishing power, but just from the betting lines, the Tibetan fighter is a lock. He is 1-1 inside the Octagon, with his most recent victory coming over Andre Soukhamthath in August of last year.
UNDERDOG PICK
Rachael Ostovich ($7,600)
With the female combatants, it could be a toss of a coin if they are close. These two beautiful ladies are also close on paper, however, I’m going to take Rachael Ostovich over Gina Mazany with my underdog pick. She comes in at $7,600 and is a slight underdog at +175. Neither of their records is anything to clamor over, but Ostovich will be extra hungry, looking to get her first win, post-TUF.
Remaining Salary
After making these three picks your remaining salary would be $25,000, which means an average of $8,033 for each fighter.
UFC on ESPN 18 goes down on November 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Draft Styles in DraftKings
In salary cap contests, participants will create a lineup by selecting players listed in the Player Pool. Each player listed has an assigned salary and a valid lineup must not exceed the salary cap.
