KSW has made another huge addition to their organization to kick off its 2021 news. Uros Jurisic, an undefeated Slovenian welterweight representing American Top Team, has recently signed with the organization. With such a dominant welterweight champion in Roberto Soldic, a new, dangerous addition like Jurisic can add fireworks to the division instantly.

Meeting KSW’s Newest Edition

Uros Jurisic entered the professional MMA ranks in early 2012 on the Slovenia regional scene. After going 5-0 on the regional scenes, Jurisic got his first taste of the big lights as he competed on the UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter Season 21, which featured American Top Team vs The Blackzilians. He suffered a decision loss, but the bout was only counted as an exhibition and his undefeated record remained intact. After taking two years off after TUF, Jurisic began the run that has led him to where he is today.

Titan FC and Bellator Run

On February 2017, Uros Jurisic secured a first-round knockout at CFC 3: Oaza Fight Night before moving to the bigger stage of Titan FC. After he secured two wins under the Titan FC banner, Jurisic met Jose Caceres at Titan FC 50 for the welterweight championship. Showcasing his ground game, Jurisic secured the guillotine choke in the first round to win the title. Going back to Slovenia for another win, Jurisic made his way to Bellator. In October 2020, Jurisic met a tough test in veteran Watler Gahadza at Bellator 247. Showing he could do it on an even bigger stage, Jurisic finished Gahadza in the first round with a rear-naked choke.

Immediate Title Contender for Soldic?

With welterweight champion Roberto Soldic running rough-shot over the KSW, could the signing of Uros Jurisic serve as a main event-quality matchup to give the champion a fight? The Titan FC champion stated in a prepared statement, “I believe I am the very best welterweight on the KSW roster!” Jurisic said. “Anyone believes different, we can solve it in the cage like true sportsmen.” Not one to ever back away from a challenger or deny KSW of a headliner, it’s possible we get this matchup in the future, maybe our KSW 59 headliner, which we hopefully will get in February 2021. KSW is pretty good about announcing their next event during the pay-per-view broadcast.
