ONE Championship’s incredible 2021 continued on Friday, March 5 with ONE: Fists Of Fury II, a previously recorded event from Singapore. The organization has been a hot-streak of events with exciting finishes, and this edition of the “Fists Of Fury” series was no different.

Fists of Fury II Highlights

The six-bout card featured five knockouts, including a stunning upset in the main event.

“Mighty Warrior” Kang Ji Won was coming off of a come-from-behind win over Mehdi Barghi, and was taking on his teammate, Amir Aliakbari. The Iranian star was making his highly-anticipated debut and was looking good early.

However, a quick and tight left hook countershot put an end to his impressive debut and Kang exited with a highlight-reel victory that pushes him into the thick of the hunt for the ONE Heavyweight World Championship and a meeting against Brandon “The Truth” Vera.

More heavyweight action was featured as undefeated Russian Anatoly Malykhin kept his record clean against Alexandre Machado with a first-round TKO showing. Malykhin dropped repeated ground and pound from the crucifix position and Machado was left defenseless.

In featherweight action, Tang Kai and Yoshiki Nakahara each picked up first-round victories to move a step closer to title contention.

Nakahara bested previously unbeaten Ruslan Emilbek Uulu in 90 seconds of work before Tang Kai one-upped him by thwarting Ryogo Takahashi in their meeting. Tang moved his win streak up to seven and remains unbeaten under the ONE banner.

Perhaps the finish of the night came in the opening contest. Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo used his powerful right elbow to repeatedly rock Emilio Urrutia in the first round. Although the American survived to the end of the round, he would not exit the second frame.

As Urrutia got his legs back under him, Abelardo saw his shots coming. As Urrutia tried to land a strike to change the bout, “Tyson” stepped-in with a right elbow that crushed his opponent.

In the lone ONE Super Series bout, bantamweight Muay Thai strikers went the distance as Han Zi Zao got a unanimous decision nod over Adam Noi.

The six-bout event was filled with fireworks from start-to-finish and keeps the train rolling for ONE as they prepare for primetime with the “ONE On TNT” series in April.
